Ahiflower Oil

General information

Ahiflower® Oil is a proprietary, refined seed oil from the plant Buglossoides arvensis, in the Boraginacea family. It is the richest naturally-occurring source of omega-3 Stearidonic Acid (SDA) and an excellent source of omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). Ahiflower Oil has a 4:1 ratio of omega-3 to omega-6, which supports a heart-healthy dietary intake. Most published health resources state that increasing the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is ideal in the Western diet, which tends to predominate in omega-6 and/or saturated fats.

Just like fish oil, Ahiflower Oil is widely taken as a soft-gel daily supplement to “top up” your daily intake of omegas.

Background / Origin

Ahiflower (official name: Buglossoides arvensis) is an oilseed crop. It is a naturally wild and now cultivated agricultural crop, grown by trained farmers in the United Kingdom. Ahiflower produces small seeds that contain an oil that is naturally rich in essential omegas.

These seeds are pressed to produce a superior omega-rich, healthy oil with a higher quality and higher quantity of omegas than any other seed oil ever discovered.
